What I've Learned Over the Weeks

"Buy Low, Sell High" - That one I haven't really learned yet, but my overall understanding of what makes stocks 'tick' has multiplied. I've learned that stocks generally go up when they are associated with good news. I've also learned that no number will tell you this; there's not one figure or statistic that can predict the value of a company. The best way I've found to get a reliable prediction of a company's performance is to get to know the company as much as possible. Read the recent news articles associated with it, find out what the independent analysts think, and check out the numbers to make sure there's no red flags.

The most important thing I've learned is that the stock market is not just a roulette wheel. If you do your homework, you can consistently maintain a productive portfolio. Like all good things, however, making money in the market takes time: researching thoroughly and giving stocks time to grow are both crucial elements of investing success.
