Week 12 Trades

After my Week 11 trades, I was certain that my fortune would change and my portfolio would increase in value. When it didn't, I made some more trades to finally find a group of stocks that could 'weather the storm' of the ailing economy. To do this, I sold Home Depot, some of Delta Airlines, and some of Citigroup. All three companies had been dropping in value, and showed little sign of improvement. Citigroup was the worst performer, but I thought this massive company would find a way to reverse their fortune. I was right. With the cash gained from these trades I bought Texas Instruments, Omega Flex, and LG Phillips LCD Co. I thought Texas Instruments might see some success from the affordable DLP HDTVs, and the morningstar forecast for TI was only positive. Omege Flex is a smaller company that I had been very successful with, previous to the Portfolio Challenge. LG Phillips LCD Co. is based in Taiwan, and I hoped it would be one of the little known companies that increases in value by factors. They are a technology producer out of Taiwan, and my research led me to believe that they would indeed see great success.
