Verizon Wireless was one of the first stocks I thought to buy, and I invested in it "Peter Lynch Style". That is, I bought it based not on objective hard data, but on my personal feelings toward the company based on my own experience with it. A few weeks prior to the investment challenge, I purchased a new phone from a Verizon store, and love it. Everywhere I go people are amazed of the quality of the phone. I also knew they would soon be unveiling the Voyager, which I thought would dethrone the Apple iPhone. I checked the statistics of Verizon, but this was not the reason for my investment.
Verizon Wireless has been performing pretty well. It has been following a sideways trend, which is better than the general downward trend of the US economy.
